PINE NUTS REPORT: by Vicki Hepler

Due to Jan’s fall and subsequent ER visit, Chas stayed home to take care of her. The Heplers arrived at the Douglas County Fairgrounds parking lot about Noon on Thursday, finding Baumgarts already set up there after several weeks “on the road” visiting relatives in the east end and middle of the country. The Masons arrived about dark. On Friday Robin, Larry and Keith rode about four hours and then all six of us enjoyed dinner at the Carson Valley Inn. The rest of the evening was spent “enjoying” the strange sounds of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department’s Halloween Haunted House next door. On Saturday morning we were joined by Bill T. and son William, who came from their trailer at South Lake Tahoe to ride with Keith about six hours. Alisa, Haley, KJ and Angel drove down from Truckee and took Glenda and Karin out to lunch. Robin and Larry rode another four hours and, when he returned, Grandpa Robin took a delighted KJ on a short motorcycle ride. Since Larry’s bike needed some TLC and Glenda was due for a blood test, we all left the Fairgrounds early Sunday morning and got to be unpacked before dark.
