SPANGLER HILLS OUTING: by Chas Moser
Another spectacular outing, again with a low TBSA turnout! Perhaps the weather forecast kept folks away?? Apparently nobody made the alternate Georgetown outing either. Four rigs showed up at Spangler Hills with a grand total of four riders ... all of whom were riding big bore four-stroke KTM's. Does that tell you something? The message here is clear ... 'hillclimbs watch out, here we come'. We rode Friday and Saturday, observed the Sabbath on Sunday, and rode again on Monday. The weather was on the cool side but tolerable, and while there was a threat of rain/snow, it was never a problem. Altogether we put on 175 miles in three days of riding. As always, the riding was superb with all the single track you could ask for and hillclimbs galore along with plenty of sand. Saturday evening we all went in to Ridgecrest for dinner out at Sizzler's where Chas fortuitously discovered that the senior dinners also included the 'all you can eat' salad bar, all for the same price as the salad bar by itself. What a deal!
