Moon Rocks (Pyramid Lake)Take I-80 to Reno. Exit at Sparks on Exit 18, Pyramid Way, Highway 445 (note that Exit 18 is about 2 miles past Highway 395 exit). Proceed about 17 miles on Pyramid Way. Make a sharp left onto Winnemucca Ranch Road and proceed for 6-1/2 miles (pavement ends after 4-1/2 miles). Turn left on smaller dirt road (sign reads "Hungry Valley Recreation Area Access"). Proceed 2.3 miles to campsite will be on the left. Note that campsite is 1.2 miles past Moon Rocks (about 4600 feet elevation).
