Stonyford - Fouts Springs
Comments: There are several campgrounds here: Davis Flat, Fouts, South Fork, and North Fork, as well as the Gray Pine Group Camp (fee & reservation required).
The campgrounds and riding areas are in the Stonyford Ranger District of the Mendocino National Forest.
Elevation: 1,700 to 6,000 feet. **NOTE: $5.00 per night fee; pay at self-service kiosk.
Facilities: Several toilets, potable water spigots, fire rings, RV dump station. **NOTE: Currently the water system is "turned off."
Directions: Take Interstate 5 north; get off at Exit 586, going west on Maxwell Rd.. Proceed approximately 32 miles (passing East Park Reservoir and taking a right turn at Ladoga) to Stonyford. Turn left at the General Store and go an additional 1/4 mile to the Fouts Springs left turn (next to the "Work Center"). It is about nine miles to Fout Springs OHV area (narrow and winding road). After crossing the creek, at the bottom of the hill, take a right at the first road (towards Fouts Springs Campground). Pass the dump station on the left, and turn left into the Davis Flat Campground. Our rigs will be somewhere on the right.
